My brother couldn’t contain his excitement, “I think you will love him!” I rushed in to the living room and the first thing I saw was his cute button nose.
Two weeks after that, I got a knock-off film camera for my 10th birthday. I walked him around the neighborhood and took as many shots as I possibly could with a box of 400 ISO rolls of film. He was my first model, Macho was his name. He was truly a hunk-of-a-dog, a beautiful mutt.
We enjoyed many years of wonderful friendship but then one summer morning, Macho passed. Those grainy Kodak film prints I collected over the years proved to be helpful in reliving our times together. I knew then that photographs help keep memories alive.
Years passed and I moved on. I became a registered nurse in the emergency room. And being around life and death made me even more realize the importance of preserving moments. I have never forgotten my love of photography. So I pursued it. I even went as far as becoming a google trusted photographer.
I’m happy when I’m behind my camera to capture precious moments that will never come back. I’m even happier when I can make those shots creative and original. I’m happiest when I can put on my two hats, be a nurse and photographer, at the same time. But you know when I’m in seventh heaven? It's when I see the priceless look on my clients’ faces as they go through their album, the very same one they will hand down to their children’s children...so memories can be relived and cherished for a very long time…
